Apartment Review for Montelago Aparments - Houston, TX

I moved into Montelago apartments on May20,2004.This complex is brand new. The complex was built in early Jan of 2003, but had just started rrenting the property out in May of 04. The very next week i reported to the management that the carpet in the dining area was wet and that there was mold on the base board of the dining room wall. Lisa in the office saiud that someone would come out and dry vac the carpet, needless to say no one ever came out. I then called and left a very ugly message and i got a call the next morning stated that someone would come out and check on it. Well what i did not know was that my sister was allergic to mold and was having an allergic reaction to the mold. Well when the maintance man came out they cut a whole in the wall and the padding under the rug and left. I had to call the office back to let them know that the job was not done, the manager Pam tells me that she had no knowledge of the mold and somone would come out to fix it, mind you this is know two weeks later. The next day someone comes out and plugs the whole in the wall and leaves, with the wall still damaged and the carpet still wet and the padding missing. The next day I went into the laundry room to see that there is mold all over the walls and behind the washer and dryer. I then put a stop payment on my rent check and let the manager know that i would be leaving and contacting the health department. No one has yet to come out to that apartment to fix the mold and i will be finish moving on Friday 6-24-04 a month later. Montelago is the worst apartment complex ever.
